~ Mid Victorian Maritime Stick Barometer By Comitti Of London ~

This superb barometer is by the still existing firm Comitti of London, which was founded by Onorato Comitti, an Italian instrument maker in 1850.

The mercury barometer also has an inset mercury thermometer.

It has a fine mahogany case, heavy brass pendulum weighted base and a brass gimballed mount.

The brushed steel face is named "O. Comitti and Son Holborn" (London).
