A desirable U.S. Model 1917 Remington bayonet with all correct wartime markings, paired with its original scabbard and a scarce British Home Guard frog — illustrating its service history from WWI through WWII.

Bayonet: A fine example of a U.S. Model 1917 bayonet, manufactured by Remington in 1917 for the U.S. Model 1917 rifle ("American Enfield"). The blade measures approximately 43 cm (17 inches), with an overall length of 55.2 cm. It features double fullers on both sides and retains a bright finish with light service wear. The ricasso is stamped "1917" above the circular "REMINGTON" mark, with the opposite side bearing the flaming bomb U.S. ordnance mark, inspector’s mark "25," "U.S.," and the test "X" bend mark — all correct wartime acceptance stamps.

Scabbard: The scabbard is an original U.S. Model 1917 leather scabbard with steel fittings, marked "H.E." on the reverse seam. The "H.E." mark is an inspector’s stamp from the U.S. Ordnance Department during WWI; its exact identity remains unknown. The scabbard retains its natural leather finish and shows honest service wear consistent with its age and field use.

Frog: The leather frog is a British Pattern 1939 (P39) type, marked with the broad arrow and "22" stamp. This frog was issued to the Home Guard during WWII, when large numbers of Model 1917 bayonets were supplied to Britain under Lend-Lease.

*Condition*
The blade is in very good condition, with minor age-related marks and spots. The wooden grips are intact and well-fitted, showing typical service handling. The scabbard remains solid and structurally sound, with stitching and rivets intact. The P39 frog is in strong condition, with all rivets, stitching, and markings clearly visible.
