Beautifully detailed hand-carved wooden bear scene (Kibori Kuma), showcasing the traditional craftsmanship of the indigenous Ainu people of Japan. The carving depicts a bear and cub searching for food and is signed on the rear side of the base.

Kibori kuma (Japanese: 木彫り熊) is a Japanese rural craft involving wooden carvings of bears, often with a fish in their mouths. Over time, many variations of this craft have evolved.
