*Scottish, 1902-1908, Original The Royal Scots Guards 9th Volunteer Battalion (VB) White Metal-Silver Plate Cap Badge, Brooch*

This cap star is constructed in two parts and silver-plated (not marked), featuring an original C clasp fitting and a brooch fitting at the rear. Resembling the Royal Scots Guards Star Badge worn by officers, this piece is notable for its white metal or silver-plated composition. It has been associated with the 9th Volunteer Battalion Royal Scots from 1902 to 1908, as indicated in auctions held by Bosley in 2000 and 2012 respectively. Notably, this version of the badge features the motto spelling “Lacessit,” distinguishing it from an alternative version spelled “Lacesset.”
