An excellent piece, fully stripable which cocks and dry fires.

As seen in the pictures the MG is serial numbered D-15746 on the top underneath the logo, on the wooden stock, and on the frame.

The stamp on the frame reads "M7.9 M53 D-15746 Enterprise 44".

Development of the MG 42 (Maschinengewehr 42): The German MG 42 was developed during World War II. It was a general-purpose machine gun, known for its high rate of fire and reliability. The design was innovative, featuring a quick-change barrel and a roller-delayed blowback mechanism.

Post-World War II: After World War II, the MG 42 design was used by various countries and became the basis for the MG 1, MG 2, and MG 3 machine guns in West Germany.

Yugoslav MG 53: In Yugoslavia, after the war, the MG 42 design was acquired, and the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) adopted a modified version known as the MG 53. The Yugoslav version had some changes to adapt it to local manufacturing capabilities and requirements.

Features and Characteristics: The MG 53 retained many of the characteristics of the original MG 42, including its high rate of fire and belt-fed mechanism. It was chambered for the 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge, the same as the MG 42. Like the MG 42, the MG 53 had a quick-change barrel.
