Excellent early Wehrmacht breadbag or “m31 Brotbeutel” in good used condition. This was the standard soldier’s haversack, as issued to every German Army and Waffen-SS field soldier. Early style with leather re-enforcement pieces on the belt loops, as the war progressed “luxurious” details like this where omitted, it has two compartments. It was one of the most integral parts in the individual Wehrmacht soldiers equipment. It contained mainly ration items and the messkit. The central D hook was to hang the canteen on the outside.

This bag is in food condition especially considering its age and service. There are the expected marks and stains but it is intact. The straps look to have been repaired. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
