This is a an imposing and beautiful, antique brass, desk companion ink well and letter set circa 1900. It is the French Baroque style and displays a repoussé (hammered) gilt brass ink well letter holder. It is a very decorative piece, wonderfully designed with classical cherubs or putti, stylized foliage and cartouche. The pen tray with acanthus decoration is flanked by a pair of inkwells (without liners) with the letter holder behind.

This letter stand is in wonderful condition. It is missing the ink liners and has a wonderful patina. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
